We will taxi to a remote stand and wait for air traffic control until we are assigned a new rtakeoff slot. If the worst comes to the worst, we will fly to Turin on course and then I will instruct the plane to land by itself on autoland, simply beacuse I won't bhe able to see the runway"
At this point an uneasy silence held the cabin. The Captain then came back over the intercom:
Ladies and Gentleman, I have been informed that you seemed quite alarmed at the prospect of us flying blind into Turin. Id like to apologise and reassure you that the aforementioned procedure is extremely safe and used on many occasions, sorry once again."
