British Airways to expand its services to Poland

British Airways is cutting costs, investing and also considering the opening of further routes to Poland.

"Over the long term we are thinking about expanding the network of air connections with Poland. Airports in Poznań, Wrocław and Gdańsk would be taken into account," said Emilia Osewska-Mądry, director of British Airways in Poland. Additional connections would be launched in summer 2007. Despite fierce competition with cheap airlines, BA is also benefiting from the development of the market. "We are observing growing traffic related to people searching for work in the UK. A significant share is also generated by transit flights - roughly 25% of our passengers change in London for the USA," said Emilia Osewska-Mądry. "Business traffic is growing continuously, which is a function of economic growth," said Marek Serafin, director of flight grid planning in PLL LOT. BA plans to cut costs by GBP 225 million by the end of 2007 and the same amount in 2008. "As a result, we want to improve profitability from 8% to 10%," explained the director of the Polish branch. Nowe kierunki latem 2007?

Jak dowiedział się serwis Pasazer.com, linia lotnicza British Airways rozważa otwarcie nowych połączeń do Polski.

- Już od dłuższego czasu zastanawiamy się nad poszerzeniem naszej siatki połączeń lotniczych w Polsce. Pod uwagę brane są przede wszystkim porty lotnicze w Gdańsku, Poznaniu i Wrocławiu. - mówi Emilia Osewska - Mądry, dyrektor BA w Polsce.

Nowe kierunki zostałyby uruchomione latem 2007.
